Edouard Schmitz (SUI) and the 13-year-old mare Balenciana K (Balou du Rouet x Grosso Z) won Saturday's CSI4* 1.45m Prix CWD in Fontainebleau, France.
Jumped over two rounds, 12 out of a starter field of 53 cleared the first round, while only the top six were able to produce a double clear result. With a time of 40.70 seconds in the jump-off, Schmitz took the win ahead of his compatriot Romain Duguet (SUI) on Bel Canto de Boguin (Grenat de Grez HN x Arpege Pierreville), who had to settle for the runner-up position when the clock stopped on 42.30. Margaux Rocuet (FRA) on Dubai du Cedre (Baloubet du Rouet x Diamant de Semilly) placed third, Nicolas Delmotte (FRA) on Rachel (Rachel x Agropoint Cannizzaro) fourth and Lily Atwood (GBR) on Johnnie Walker (Harley VDL x Numero Uno) fifth.
