For the third week in a row David Will (GER) and the 15-year-old gelding Forest Gump 29 (Forsyth x Feuerwerk) were the winners of Thursday's 1.50m Big Tour class against the clock at the Sunshine Tour in Vejer de la Frontera, Spain. The class was held in the main grass ring – the David Broome arena – and the course was designed by Elena Boix.
Will took the win with over three seconds in hand, ahead of Kim Emmen (NED) on Warriors Glory (Warrior x Caretino Glory). Gudrun Patteet (BEL) – the winner of last Sunday’s Equine America Grand Prix – took third place with Sea Coast Pebbles Z (Picasso x Flamenco de Semilly).
The Big Tour 1.45m class was a two-phase competition and was won by another German rider; Gerrit Nieberg with the mare Baynounah FBH (Numero Uno x Zwart). Both second and third place went to Dutch riders; Aniek Diks with Winston Jumper R (Cantos x Concorde) and Kevin Jochems with Carte Blanche (Cartogran x Balou du Rouet).
