Mathieu Billot and Lord de Muze (Nabab de Reve x For Pleasure) took a popular home win in Saturday's CSI4* 1.50m Département de la Seine-Maritime in Canteleu, which was the feature class of the day at the French event.
Eleven of the 64 horse-and-rider combinations jumped clear in this speed class counting for the Longines Ranking Group D, and fastest of them was Billot and the 13-year-old gelding who crossed the finish line in a time of 63.38 seconds. It was quite a gap down to runner-up Jos Verlooy (BEL), who was 3.15 seconds slower aboard Parise van den Dael (I Am Moerhoeve's Star x For Passion d'Ive Z). The third place went to Yves Vanderhasselt (BEL) – the winner of Friday's 1.50m class – and Nikita van de Koekelberg (Filou de Muze x Cardento), who stopped the clock on 66.99 seconds.
Jessica Burke (IRL) and African Affair (Billy Congo x breeding unknown) finished fourth with a time of 67.48, followed by Victor Bettendorf (LUX) and Encore Toi du Linon (Kannan x Desir du Chateau) in fifth.
