Germany's Jens Baackmann and the 9-year-old Lorenz 86 (Livello x Clarimo) took Friday's biggest win at Sentower Park in Opglabbeek, Belgium, when topping the CSI4* 1.50m SVD Equestrian Prize – a Grand Prix qualifier and a class counting for the Longines Ranking Group D.
With a time of 39.75 seconds in a jump-off between only three horse-and-rider combinations, Baackmann and Lorenz 86 bested a starting field of 81 pairs, taking the win ahead of Niels Fockaert (BEL) and Chacco Me Biolley (Chacco-Blue x Argentinus) in second in 40.40. Sophie Hinners (GER) and Vittorio 8 (Valentino 240 x Ramiro's Bube) placed third with four faults and a time of 41.05 seconds in the jump-off.
With a single time penalty each, Thibault Philippaerts (BEL) and Obama de La Liniere (Marius Claudius x Golden Hawk) finished fourth and Jana Wargers (GER) fifth aboard Limbridge (Guardus Limbus x Cambridge 8).
