Jens Baackmann made it a home win in Sunday's CSI4* DKB-Riders Tour Grand Prix of Münster, riding the 12-year-old mare Carmen 255 (Cornet Obolensky x Contender).
It was a 1.60m competition over two rounds, and only five riders went clear in both. Baackmann finished round two in 43.21 seconds, and was a bit more than half a second faster than Friday’s winner Peder Fredricson (SWE) with his Olympic silver medallist H&M All In (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Andiamo) that stopped the clock in 44.02 seconds.
Third place went to in-form Marc Houtzager (NED) with Sterrehof’s Baccarat (Padinus x Silvio I) after crossing the finish line in 45.84 seconds. Christian Rhomberg (AUT) ended fourth riding Saphyr des Lacs (Mr. Blue x First Bride), while Gerrit Nieberg (GER) ended fifth with Contagio (Colman x Capitol I).
After four legs, Christian Rhomberg now tops the DKB-Riders Tour standings with his 30 points. Marc Houtzager sits second, ahead of Markus Beerbaum and Holger Wulschner as rank three and Emanuele Gaudiano as rank five.
