Press release from SIGNAL IDUNA Cup Dortmund
Jens Baackmann (GER) won Saturday's 1.50m ‘Championat Signal Iduna’ in Dortmund, riding the mare Carmen 255 (Cornet Obolensky x Contender). With his 39.05 seconds, Baackmann was the fastest of the eight riders that qualified for the jump-off but still he was not quite happy with his round. “The beginning didn’t go so well. But Carmen's experience helped me and today the mare was obviously better than her rider,” he said.
Second place went to Gilles Dunon (BEL) after he crossed the finish line of the shortened course in 40.68 seconds with his 14-year-old Fou De Toi vd Keihoeve (Toulon x Melkior du Montois). Max Kühner (AUT) ended third with Vancouver Dreams (Valentino x Stakkato) when stopping the clock at 40.75 seconds. Jana Wargers (GER) with Quinn 33 (Quidam de Revel x Contender) followed in fourth ahead of Patrick Stühlmeyer (GER) with Varihoka Du Temple (Luigi d’Amaury x Kannan) in fifth.
