Stephex Stables' very own Kendra Claricia Brinkop (GER) and the 9-year-old gelding Do It Easy (Vigo Cece x Laeken) took Friday's biggest win at CSI5* Brussels Stephex Masters, when topping the 1.55m Table A with a jump-off.
Eight horse-and-rider combinations out of the 44 participants in the class cleared the first-round track and joined the deciding jump-off, where only the top five delivered another clear. With a time of 40.68 seconds, Brinkop took a popular host win ahead of Peder Fredricson (SWE) on Catch Me Not S (Cardento x Ramiro's Son) in runner-up position – with as little as 0.03 seconds separating the two riders.
Pieter Devos (BEL) and Claire Z (Clearway x Coronado) placed third, 0.46 seconds behind the winning time, while the fourth place went to Christian Kukuk (GER) on Nive van'T Zorgvliet (Emerald x Heartbreaker) and fifth to Jos Verlooy (BEL) on Luciano van het Geinsteinde (Quinn van de Heffinck x Air Jordan).
Earlier in the day, Abdel Saïd (BEL) and Bandit Savoie (Qlassic Bois Margot x Alcamera) won the CSI5* 1.45m class, ahead of Roger Yves Bost (FRA) on Urane (Miami de Semilly x Drakkar des Hutins) in second, and Thibeau Spits (BEL) on Juragold Bormes (Contact van de Heffinck x Landino) in third.
