Khaled Almobty (KSA) and the 12-year-old Spacecake (Stakkatol x Kannan) won Sunday's CSI4* 1.55m Grand Prix at the Longines Tops International Arena in Valkenswaard, the Netherlands.
With a time of 45.40 in a jump-off between seventeen horse-and-rider combinations, Almobty and Spacecake bested a field of 37 pairs – taking the win ahead of Koen Vereecke (BEL) and Kasanova de La Pomme (Bamako de Muze x Malito de Reve) in second in 46.17 and Lorenzo de Luca (ITA) aboard Cash du Plessis (Orient Express x Rosire) in third in 47.02.
Roberto Teran Tafur (COL) and DSP Callas (Casskeini II x Levistano) finished fourth in 47.61, followed by Kevin Jochems (NED) aboard Camilla can de Helle (Crumble x Casall) in fifth in 48.30.
“It was amazing," Almobty said in a press release from Longines Tops International Arena. "I am very very happy and proud of my whole team. This is the second 4* Grand Prix of the Summer Festival Series and this is my second win as well. I won the first Grand Prix with Jaguar King and the second Grand Prix with the amazing Spacecake. It is always a pleasure to ride a horse like Spacecake or Jaguar King. I hope we can go for a third 4* Grand Prix win this summer here in Valkenswaard.”
