It was a home victory in Sunday's CSI4* DKB-Riders Tour Grand Prix of Münster, as Marcus Ehning went top the top aboard the 13-year-old Pret a Tout (Hiram Chambertin x Stew Boy).
The 1.60m BMW Hakvoort Trophy, also the fourth leg of the 2016 DKB-Riders Tour series, saw thirteen riders moving on to the second round of the competition.
Against the clock it was German perfectionist Marcus Ehning that as usual executed his round with precision and style to finish off with the fastest time of the day as the clock showed 43.25 seconds. However, it was not much that separated Ehning and runner-up Jens Backmann on the 11-year-old Cornet Obolensky-daughter Carmen; only 0.07 seconds were in between.
Third place went to Felix Hassmann, who secured an all-German podium, aboard Cayenne WZ (Claudio x Ramirado) with a time of 43.54 seconds in round two. Fourth went to Ireland's Cameron Hanley on Falco van Spieveld (Toulon x Lys de Darmen), before more German followed in fifth with Andreas Knipling rounding off the top five.
"It could not really have gone any better for me; a top placing on Saturday evening and a win on Sunday - on different horses. Of Münster and the Turnier der Sieger, I can only say that there is nothing that the organizers could do better," said Ehning after his win.
With today's victory, Ehning also secured himself the overall lead of the DKB-Riders Tour.
