At the Vilamoura Atlantic Tour, the weekend concluded with a win for France's Mathieu Billot in the CSI3* Grand Prix “Francisco Moura”.
Set at 1.50m, nine of the 49 riders cleared the first round course to meet again in the jump-off where Billot was the fastest aboard the 9-year-old mare Ilena S (Verdi x Calido I). Stopping the clock at 44.11 seconds, the French rider had almost two seconds down to runner-up Marlon Modolo Zanotelli (BRA) on Serene de La Motte (Apache d'Adriers x Uriel d'Orval). Taizo Sugitani (JAP) ended third on Cuba (Cassini II x Nimmerdor) more than four seconds behind the winning pair, while fourth was Duarte Seabra (POR) and fifth Marc Bettinger – both with four faults in the jump-off.
