Simon Delestre (FRA) had a good Thursday at the Doha Tour in Qatar, winning the CSI4* 1.50m with Olga van de Kruishoeve (El Torreo de Muze x Nabab de Reve) and finishing second in the 1.45m with I Amelusina R 51 (Dexter R x Chin Chin).
Nine horse-and-rider combinations competed in the 1.50m class counting for the Longines Ranking, where Delestre and the 10-year-old mare were the fastest with a time of 65.86 seconds. Gerfried Puck (AUT) and Equitron Melody Vd Smidshoeve (Epleaser Van T Heike x Thunder Vd Zuuthoeve) finished second after stopping the clock at 66.31, followed by Jeanne Sadran (FRA) and Unforgettable Damvill (San Patrignano Corrado x Papillon Rouge) in third with a time of 69.54.
In the 1.45m counting for the Longines Ranking, which had 21 horse-and-rider combinations lined up, Delestre had to see himself beaten by Santiago Lambre (BRA) and Chacco Blue II (Chacco-Blue x Cincaba Rouge) with only 0.05 seconds separating the two riders. Jennifer Hochstadter (LIE) finished third with Tinka's Hero Z (Tinka's Boy x Caretino 2) – 1.33 seconds behind the winning time.
