Germany’s David Will and the stunning 16-year-old mare Mic Mac du Tillard (Cruising x Galoubet A) took first place in Friday’s opening CSI5* class against the clock in Miami Beach. As sunbathers and spectators lined the arena, the world’s best showjumping athletes took centre stage for the 1.45/1.50 speed class. Italy's Emanuele Gaudiano continued his flying form following yesterday’s speed class win, riding Guess 6 (Bentley vd Heffincl x Surrealist van''t Paradijs) to third place, and Switzerland’s Pius Schwizer and the impressive Balou Rubin R (Balou du Rouet x Couleur-Rubin) took the second spot.
Another combination who look on form this weekend are Bassem Hassan Mohammed and Argelith Squid ( Salito x Gibraltar), who finished third in yesterday’s opening class, and 5th this afternoon. Jane Richard Philips (SUI), Daniel Deusser (GER) and Bertram Allen (IRL) all looked in good shape ahead of tomorrow’s Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Miami Beach and the riders had the chance to flex their muscles once more ahead of the $500,000 class.
