Marc Houtzager secured a home win in the youngster tour final presented by Gestüt Grönwohldhof Prix Manfred von Allwörden in Valkenswaard on Saturday, riding the impressive 7-year-old KWPN stallion Mr. Europe (Mr. Blue x Cassini I).
"I think he can be a really good one for the future. He is scopey, careful and has a very good mind. It is just recently I started going a bit faster with him, and today he jumped really well," Houtzager said afterwards.
Only 0.28 seconds behind followed a 6-year-old horse: Kay (Echo van het Neerenbosch) with British rider Tim Wilks in the saddle. Another 6-year-old horse also took care of the third place; Alothain de Blondel (Newton de Kreisker x Heartbreaker) with Laura Renwick in the saddle making it two British combinations on the podium.
