Belgium won Friday's CSIO4* 1.55m Nations Cup of Poland presented by the city of Sopot, where nine teams had lined up at start.
With a total team score of eight penalties, Belgium – who had a squad consisting of Jeroen Appelen on King CJS (Action-Breaker x Lancelot), Frederic Vernaet on Paulus-L (Corydon Van T&L x Toulon), Annelies Vorsselmans on Trezeguet (Turmalin 1202 x Chairman LS La Silla) and Rik Hemeryck on Inoui du Seigneur (Jenson van't Meulenhof x Aganix du Seigneur) – went to the top of the Nations Cup, with Vernaet delivering one of only two double clear rounds in this class. Italy finished second on a score of 13 penalties, followed by Ireland in third on 17 faults after two rounds of competition.
Giacomo Bassi on Cash du Pratel (L’arc De Triomphe x Feofar de Rhodes), Nico Lupino on Iniesta (Balloon x Cornet Obolensky), Gianluca Quondam Gregorio on Chaccbay (Chacco-Blue x Quick Star) and Alberto Zorzi on Neptune de Muze (Cadeau de Muze x Chin Chin) were part of the Italian squad, while Ireland had David Simpson on Pjotr van de Kruishoeve (Bamako de Muze x Taran de La Pomme), Jason Foley on Chedington Hazy Toulana (Toulon x Indorado), Max Wachman on Kilkenny (Cardento x Guidam) and Cian O'Connor on Bentley du Sury (Sunday de Riverland x Calvaro) in action.
