It was a home win for Simon Delestre (FRA) in Thursday's 1.50m Grand Prix qualifier, the Prix FFE – Generali, at CSIO5* Jumping International La Baule.
The class brought together 57 horse-and-rider combinations in this competition against the clock, where Delestre and the 12-year-old Sultan de Beaufour (Cardento x For Pleasure) were the fastest stopping the clock at 69.09 seconds.
Only seven pairs managed to clear the course designed by Frédéric Cottier, with world n°1 Harrie Smolder (NED) placing second with Zinius (Nabab de Reve x Kannan) in 69.23 seconds. Paul Estermann (SUI) finished third with Curtis Sitte (Ugano Sitte x Chellano Z) in 69.45 seconds, while Alexandra Francart (FRA) was fourth on Volnay du Boisdeville (Winningmood x Jalisco B) and Shane Sweetnam (IRL) fifth on Don't Touch du Bois (Kashmir van't Schuttershof x Indoctro).
