On Saturday afternoon, Geir ‘Jimmy’ Gulliksen was crowned Norwegian Champion in Drammen, Norway, claiming the 11th King’s Cup of his career. Jimmy rode his faithful partner VDL Groep Quatro (Quaprice Bois Margot x Caletto I) to victory.

“As a senior, this is my 18th gold medal in 28 years – counting Norwegian indoor and outdoor championships – and my 11th King’s Cup,” Jimmy tells World of Showjumping. “Overall, I have won eighteen times, claimed silver ten times and bronze four times.”

As to his secret to such consistent success, Jimmy says: “Stay focused, work hard and never give up. And be open to learn, even at the age of sixty!”

Fredrik Berg Seim on Quevara van de Vlierbeek Z (Quintus x Omar) took silver, while the bronze medal went to Therese Søhol Henriksen on Halifax van de Conynenberg (Codex x Caesar Van De Helle).
