Norway’s Geir ‘Jimmy’ Gulliksen has sold his top horse Equine America Grandino H (Calvino Z x Numero Uno) to the US, and it will be 21-year-old Olivia Broder taking over the reins.
With Gulliksen in the saddle, the 12-year-old stallion has had several top results on five-star level; last year, the pair finished 5th in the CSI5* Grand Prix in Doha, 5th in the CSI5* LGCT Grand Prix in Paris, as well as jumping double clear in the CSIO5* Nations Cup in Falsterbo, while in 2021, they placed 4th in the CSI5*-W Grand Prix in Oslo.
“Grandino has been a top horse for me, one of the best I ever had – a dream horse really – so it’s a shame to sell him,” Gulliksen commented to World of Showjumping. “However, we have a big family business to run, and we also need to finance it all. It was not an easy decision to make though. I wish Olivia all the best with Grandino, and look forward to follow the two of them together.”
