Rowen Van de Mheen (NED) and Q Verdi (Verdi x Contendro I) won individual gold in the junior class at the European Championships in Samorin with only 1,62 penalties carried through from the first round of competition. “It’s really crazy. I’ve never expected this. It’s just amazing. It is my first title! The atmosphere was really nice here. I’ve already been to a couple of Europeans and this is one of the best resorts I’ve seen. The crowd created a really great atmosphere during the rounds and my horse was great too. He improved a lot in last couple of months and he did great job today. He was unbelievable,” the Dutch rider stated after his win.

Silver went to Harry Charles (GBR) and Vivaldi du Dom (Casall x Veneur du Prelet). The combination produced five strong rounds throughout the championships to end 0,56 seconds behind the winner. “I am very happy with my horse how he jumped, he did great, he was amazing all week. I was trying to win but I am delighted with the silver medal, I have repeated it from two years ago. By far it was the best European Championship venue I have ever been to.”

Giacomo Casadei (ITA) claimed bronze aboard Flickfox (by Polyfox) on a 6,35 penalty score. It was a fantastic championship, I am very happy now because I really enjoyed myself here. My horse jumped well, and the tracks were very good. Other competitors were very strong, so it made the competition difficult. I didn`t expect to get a medal. This is my second year in the junior category. Last year we were second in team competition, this year it was tougher so I am happy I got bronze now in individuals.”
