After topping Thursday's Longines Ranking class at Hubside Jumping Grimaud in St. Tropez, France, Marc Dilasser (FRA) continued his winning ways in Friday's CSI5* 1.55m Grand Prix qualifier. Presented by Hubside, the jump-off class had 43 horse-and-rider combinations at start and 12 of them cleared their way into the deciding jump-off where Dilasser and Arioto du Gevres (Diamant de Semilly x Qualisco III) were the quickest – stopping the clock on 36.06.

Christian Ahlmann (GER) on Mandato van de Neerheide (Emerald x Pommeau du Heup) took the runner-up position with a time of 37.19 in the jump-off, while Penelope Leprevost (FRA) on Texas (Tornesch x Robin Z) placed third, Nicolas Delmotte (FRA) on Citadin du Chatellier (L'Arc de Triomphe x Diamant de Semilly) fourth and Dominique Hendrickx (BEL) on Floris TN (Quality Time TN x Vancouver) fifth.

"This second victory is a fantastic moment," the happy winner said in a press release from Hubside Jumping. "You have to take advantage of it when the horses maintain a form like this. I would like to thank Henk Nooren who gave me the opportunity to go and jump in superb CSIOs such as Falsterbo, Hickstead, Dublin and Calgary all summer. I let my horses breathe after these high-level competitions and they arrived here in incredible form! I feel that they have taken on another dimension. In the jump-off, I started last when the lead was held by Christian Ahlmann. Arioto is a naturally very fast horse. Henk had told me that I had to take a big risk in the double. It is true that I got into this double in a rather risky way, but we know each other by heart, I trust my horse and I knew he was capable of giving me that effort. And once it's started, nothing can stop him. In the first round, we did nine strides between the first and the second fence; in the jump-off, I did seven! He has an incredible gallop! On Sunday, he will jump the CSI5* Grand Prix."

The second CSI5* class of the day, a 1.50m special two phase, went to Italy's Giulia Martinengo Marquet on Scuderia 1918 Calle Deluxe (Cesano 2 x Con Air 7). Omer Karaevli (TUR) on Livingstone van het Peggershof (Ogano Sitte x Thunder vd Zuuthoeve) took the runner-up position, while the third place went to Kristaps Neretnieks (LAT) on Palladium Kjv (Lancer III x Cornet Obolensky), fourth to Riccardo Pisani (ITA) on Seronera (Chacco-Blue x Cartogran) and fifth to Bryan Balsiger (SUI) on AK's Courage (Chepetto C x Lennon 5).
