Patrick Stühlmeyer’s Drako de Maugre (Kannan x Fusain de Du Defey, bred by Nicolas Normand) has been sold and will in the future be seen with the USA’s Paris Sellon.
Stühlmeyer took over the reins of the now 12-year-old stallion from Alexandra Francart (FRA) in 2022, and the two won the final of the Sires of the World in Lanaken (BEL) and the CSI4* Grand Prix of Holstein (GER) that same year. Last year, Stühlmeyer and Drako de Maugre were part of the German team in the CSIO5* Agria Nations Cup at Hickstead (GBR), placed third in the CSIO5* 1.60 RWE Prize of North Rhein-Westphalia and sixth in the CSIO5* 1.60m Turkish Airlines-Prize of Europe at CHIO Aachen (GER).
“Thank you, Drako, I learned a lot from you,” Stühlemeyer wrote on social media. “Your intelligence, your commitment, and your fighting spirit made dreams come true. I wish you a great future!”
“It’s really exciting to have a horse like Drako in my stable,” Sellon told World of Showjumping. “I’ve been very lucky to have great horses throughout my life to allow me to compete at a high level. However, the last few years I’ve been missing a top Grand Prix horse, and Drako is the complete package. Patrick and Paul [Schockemöhle] have produced him to the highest level, and now I get to enjoy him. I’m very thankful and looking forward to this special opportunity.”
