The German riders dominated in Saturday's two biggest classes at Munich Indoors.
In the CSI4* 1.50m Championat der Deutsche Vermögensberatung - DVAG von München, Tobias Meyer (GER) and Queentina (Coupe de Coeur x Quidam's Rubin) took home the win after a lightning fast jump-off. With over 1.5 seconds down to runner-up Mario Stevens (GER) on Baloubet (Balou du Rouet x Grandeur), Meyer had good reason to smile. "I knew when I was done that the others had to be fast," said he 31-year-old rider. "Queentina is not so easy to ride, but I have found a good way with her and already won a lot with her. She had a four months break due to an injury, and this was her first bigger class again. She is very careful and a real fighter, so you have to channel that a bit. That's why she goes out in the field a lot, so she stays calm."
In third place came Lucas Porter (USA) on C Hunter (Cassini II x Corland), followed by Werner Muff (SUI) in fourth and Luciana Diniz (POR) in fifth.
Later in the night, David Will (GER) won the CSI4* 1.50m Munich Indoors Gold-Cup with Primus Vom Neumuehler Hof (Perigueux x Livello). This time around it was a much closer call with only 0.12 separating Will from runner-up Jan Wernke (GER) on Queen Mary (Contendro I x Caretino). Werner Muff was again in the top five, this time placing third with Jolie v. Molenhof (Nabab de Reve x Couleur Rubin) while fourth place went to Bryan Balsiger (SUI) and fifth to Denis Lynch (IRL).
