Edited press release from Diriyah Equestrian Festival

His Highness Prince Abdullah bin Fahd Al Saud, President of the Saudi Arabian Equestrian Federation, congratulated German rider Daniel Deusser for winning Friday's CSI4*-W FEI Jumping World Cup™ qualifier presented by Longines. This World Cup qualifier was one of the key classes of the Diriyah Equestrian Festival held at the Elite Horses Sport Center in Riyadh. The Diriyah Equestrian Festival is one of the only shows that has been maintained amid the Covid-19 pandemic with 120 riders participating from more than 30 countries around the world.

The course set by Uliano Vezzani, one of the best course designers in the world, showed top-class sport from some of the best riders from around the globe. Daniel Deusser, riding one of his top horses Scuderia 1918 Tobago Z (Tangelo vd Zuuthoeve x Mr Blue), stopped the clock at 36.90 seconds with a clear round just in front of his compatriot Marcus Ehning. Ehning rode Calanda (Calido I x Chasseur I) to second place with a clear round in a time of 37.00 seconds. Third place went to the Belgian Jos Verlooy and Varoune (Verdi TN x Cordalme) that delivered a clear round in the time of 38.01 seconds. France's Kevin Staut finished fourth with Tolede de Mescam Harcour (Mylord Carthago x Kouglof II) and his compatriot Jeanne Sadran on Vannan (Diamant de Semilly x Kannan) ended fifth.
