The FEI Jumping Rules are given a full review in 2021, and the proposal on the revised rules that are to be approved at the FEI General Assembly are now available online. The FEI Hybrid General Assembly takes place between 14-17 November 2021 in Antwerp, Belgium.

It is the FEI Jumping Committee that has provided the proposal on the revised rules, and also reviewed the suggestions submitted by national federations and stakeholders.

The many proposed modifications include changes to art. 201 on schooling areas and practice obstacles, to art. 236 regarding time penalties in Table A competitions, to art. 256 regarding use of spurs and whip, to art. 257 regarding use of boots, vet wrap, pastern bands and fetlock rings, and to art. 261 on eligibility requirements to compete in a Grand Prix and/or a FEI World Cup competition at a CSI5* or CSI5*-W event if there is no qualification system in place. Furthermore, there are many suggested changes to annex V which regulates the invitation rules, and to annex VIII on qualification procedures for the Olympic Games, as well as world and continental jumping championships – specifically on the minimum eligibility requirements.

The mark-up version of the proposed jumping rules can be found here.

The memo on the modifications can be found here.
