Wilm Vermeir wins Friday's feature class at CSI4*-W Al Shira'aa International Horse Show

The CSI4*-W Al Shira'aa International Horse Show kicked off in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, on Thursday, and in Friday’s feature class – the 1.50m Mother of Nation Diamond Tour with a jump-off – it was Belgium's Wilm Vermeir that took the win. Riding Joyride S (Toulon x Pachat), Vermeir topped the class with a double clear round in 33.61 seconds.

A total of eight horse-and-rider combinations out of the 39 starters cleared the first-round track and joined the jump-off, where Jur Vrieling (NED) on Long John Silver 3 (Lasino x San Patrignano Corrado) took the runner-up position 1.87 seconds behind the winners, while William Funnell (GBR) on Equine America Billy Picador (Billy Mexico x Animo) placed third 2.2 seconds behind Vermeir's time. Shane Breen (IRL) on Vistogrand (Fantaland x Mr. Visto) placed fourth and Amre Hamcho (SYR) on Vagabon des Forets (Corofino 2 x Richebourg) fifth. 

Thursday's CSI4*-W Al Shira'aa Arabian Diamond Tour Grand Prix qualifier, a 1.45m against the clock, went to Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) on Nikolaj de Music (Kannan x Nabab de Reve) with a time of 57.15 seconds. Mohammed Ghanem Al Hajri (UAE) on G's Fabian (Gaillard de la Pomme x Lovis Corinth) took the runner-up spot after stopping the clock on 59.90, while Georgia Tame (GBR) on Z7 Caretina (Coltaire Z x Caretino) placed third with a time of 60.09. Vladimir Tuganov (RUS) on Tulum (Chacco-Blue x Captain Paul I) placed fourth and Kristaps Neretnieks (LAT) on Valour (Verdi x Calido) fifth.
