Australian international eventer Chris Burton won Saturday's CSI4* 1.45m La Equina Small Grand Prix at the Andalucía Sunshine Tour in Vejer de la Frontera, Spain.
Fourteen of the 91 horse-and-rider combinations cleared Leopoldo Palacios' tricky track in the David Broome arena and moved on to the jump-off, where Burton and the 10-year-old Chedington Hazy Toulana (Toulon x Heartbreaker) were the fastest of the clear pairs with their time of 45.88 seconds.
Penelope Leprevost (FRA) and Djagger Semilly (Diamant de Semilly x Apache d'Adriers) finished second in 46.27, ahead of Cecilie Hatteland (NOR) and Alex (Oklund x Landjonker) that stopped the clock at 47.21. Chloe Winchester (GBR) and Icaterma (Emerald van 't Ruytershof x Lux) finished fourth, and Emeric George (FRA) fifth with Calisco de Terlong (Mylord Carthago x Jalisco B) after posting the last double clear of the class.
