On Sunday, the curtains closed for the wonderful Fit For Fun 13 (For Pleasure x Fabriano – bred by Sigrid Crome-Sperling) at CHIO Aachen. After a long and successful career, the 18-year-old mare was thanked off with a farewell ceremony during the Rolex Grand Prix.
For the last decade, Fit For Fun was Luciana Diniz’s top horse, and the mare has done it all: The Olympic Games, the World Equestrian Games, the European Championships, the Longines FEI World Cup Finals and the Longines FEI Nations Cup Finals, as well as winning five-star Grand Prix classes in Al Rayyan, Basel, Doha. St. Gallen and Rotterdam. Fit For Fun did her last international starts at the end of 2019.
Both Fitty's owner Ralf Jünger and Luciana Diniz were present at the farewell ceremony, and the mare even had her foal with her. "You gave me so many unforgettable moments," Diniz said to Fit For Fun. "I am so thankful you came into my life, thank you Fitty – I love you!"
