Billy Twomey and Pius Schwizer with opening wins in Stuttgart

CSI5*-W Stuttgart German Masters 2018

The opening day of the five-star show Stuttgart German Masters saw Billy Twomey (IRL) and Pius Schwizer (SUI) take the first wins. 

Aboard the 13-year-old gelding Living The Dream (Toulon x Flamenco de Semilly), Schwizer took the top honours in the 1.50m speed class Prize of Firma XXL-Sicherheit. 1.56 seconds separated Schwizer from runner-up Maurice Tebbel (GER) on Chacco's Son (Chacco-Blue x Falkenhof's Lancer), while Karel Cox (BEL) followed in third on Evert (Amadeus x Indoctro). 

The 1.45m Prize of Bardusch Textil Mietdienste GmbH & Co.KG went to Billy Twomey and Ardcolum Duke (Gypsy Duke x Clover Hill). Twomey completed the second phase clear in 18.97 seconds to take the win ahead of Andreas Kreuzer (GER) with Easy Blue in 19.18 seconds. Third place went to Jos Verlooy (BEL) on Japatero VDM (Eldorado van de Zeshoek x For Pleasure).
