Press release from Helsinki Horse Show
In recent years, Friday evening’s Fortum HorsePower International 145 cm has been successful for Swiss riders, and the streak continued also this year when Pius Schwizer on Balou Rubin R (Balou du Rouet x Couleur-Rubin) was fastest against the clock. With an amazing round in just 48.74 seconds they narrowly beat the second placed Olivier Robert and Eros (Querlybet Hero x Forever) from France who cleared the course in time 48.94. Dutch rider Henk van de Pol on Looyman Z (Numero Uno x Wellington) placed third with time 49.00.
"Balou Rubin R is a very fast horse, it’s incredible. It is very careful and spooky, a good horse for the classes up to 155 cm but too careful for the GP level," Schwizer described his horse.
German rider Michael Jung on Dante RZ (Diarado x Alvarez 17) managed to make the fastest clear round in the Länsiväylä International Speed 140 cm and took the win in Friday evening’s last show jumping class. Second place went to last year’s winner Francois Jr Mathy on Kinshasa de Goedereede (Darco x Nabab de Reve) from Belgium and third was Czech rider Emma Augier de Moussac on Rubio Monocoat Electric (Ukato x Oklund).
