France’s Kevin Staut has been named leading rider of the CSI5*-W show at Jumping Mechelen. The French jockey got a score of 685 points over 5 five-star classes. Staut stayed just ahead of Dutch rider Harrie Smolders, who earned 684 points. Kevin Staut is the successor of Sweden’s Douglas Lindelöw, who claimed the title last year.
Kevin Staut has had some great successes at Jumping Mechelen, including two fifth placings in 1.50m and 1.45m classes with his new mount Bleu Bayou (Berlin x Ahorn) and a 9th placing with Elky van het Indihof HDC (Toulon x Thunder van de Zuuthoeve) in the 1.50m Grand Prix.
By earning the title Leading Rider of the Show the French rider takes home a brand-new Ifor Williams trailer.
