Dutch rider Leopold van Asten followed up on his compatriot Jur Vrieling's win in Helsinki yesterday by taking the victory in the CSI5* Helsinki Grand Prix. Riding VDL Groep Quinthago Z (Quinar Z x Carthago Z), Van Asten was one of nine riders making it to the jump-off in this 1.60 class where he yet again rode a clear round beating runner-up Daniel Deusser on Clintop (Clinton x Calvaro Z) from Germany by 0.17 seconds.
Third place also went to Germany, as Hans-Dieter Dreher finished 0.48 seconds behind the winning time aboard Cool and Easy (Contender x Riverman). Also double clear to finish fourth was Ireland's Shane Breen on Undicci (Camiell-Flamingo Z x Cardento), while fifth went to yet another German rider - Patrick Stühlmeyer on Lord Lohengrin (Lordanos x Diskus).
