Leopold van Asten's former top horse VDL Groep Think Twice (San Patrignano Corrado x Fier de Lui Z) has passed away, at the age of 28.
On this official Instagram account, Van Asten writes: "Frosty has been a fantastic horse for me at the start of my international career. She carried me through my first big GP’s and championships. After her sport career she had a lovely long life in the field! She got 14 offsprings with a lot of her qualities. RIP Frosty and thank u for everything."
With VDL Groep Think Twice, Van Asten became Dutch Champion in 2003. That same year, the two won the CSI3* Grand Prix in The Hague and went on to compete at the European Championships in Donaueschingen. Two years later, in 2005, the pair won the CSI4* Grand Prix in Donaueschingen. The pair also competed in the World Cup Final in Kuala Lumpur in 2006.
Our thoughts go out to all those close to VDL Groep Think Twice.
