Press release from Rolex Series, edited by World of Showjumping
With 50 of the world’s finest horses and riders at start and a sold-out stadium buzzing with energy, Sunday’s CSI5* 1.60m Rolex Grand Prix presented by Agria delivered a spectacular afternoon of sport at the Falsterbo Horse Show 2025 – now part of the prestigious Rolex Series.
Sanne Thijssen (NED), second to go, made a statement with the first clear aboard Con Quidam RB (Quinar x Cardino) in 83.83, and she was soon joined by the likes of Max Kühner (AUT) on EIC Daloubet (Diamant de Semilly x Baloubet du Rouet), Pius Schwizer (SUI) on Jason R (Starpower x Berlin), Simon Crippen (GBR) aboard Handsome (Toulon x Phin-Phin) and Trevor Breen (IRL) with Highland President (Clinton x Kannan).
The home crowd roared as Amanda Eriksson (SWE) and Folsom (Favorit Ask x Goodtimes) became the first Swedes to go clear, followed by Henrik von Eckermann (SWE) on Minute Man (Vigo d’Arsouilles x Montender 2), Malin Baryard-Johnsson (SWE) on H&M Indiana (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Animo’s Hallo), as well as Peder Fredricson aboard Alcapone des Carmille (Diamant de Semilly x Heartbreaker).
With 14 clear rounds and only 13 spots available for the second round, the pace was as important as precision. Karl Cook (USA) and Caracole de La Roque (Zandor Z x Kannan) stole the spotlight with a flawless round in 77.69, the fastest of the first round. Also advancing to the second round were Steve Guerdat (SUI) and Dynamix de Belheme (Snaike de Blondel x Cornet Obolensky), Pedro Junqueira Muylaert (BRA) on Quax 76 (Quo Vados I x Come On), Matias Larocca (ARG) on Patron van de Dweerhoeve (Thunder van de Zuuthoeve x Nabab de Reve) and Andreas Schou (DEN) aboard Darc de Lux (Darco x Contender). Unfortunately, despite a clear round, Amanda Eriksson was edged out by time in her five-star debut, finishing 14th in the end.
In a fiercely contested second round, double clears came thick and fast. Sanne Thijssen and Con Quidam RB lit up the arena with an electric round in 43.74, appearing unbeatable. Steve Guerdat and Dynamix de Belheme came close in 44.20, and Malin Baryard-Johnsson on H&M Indiana thrilled the home crowd with a lightning fast round in 45.64. However, it was the final pair — Karl Cook and the phenomenal Caracole de La Roque — who delivered a masterclass in precision and pace, stopping the clock at 43.28 and clinching a brilliant win in Falsterbo, pushing Thijssen to second and Guerdat to third.
