The Youngsters Auction has revealed the collection of the 5th edition for Tuesday 24 May 2022. Seventeen 5- to 7-year-old showjumping talents have been selected for the live auction; the collection includes high quality sporthorses ready for the international sport. “We think we have selected the kind of horses everyone is looking for. Complete, talented horses with competition experience, well-educated and ready for the next step in their career”, Peter van der Waaij says on behalf of The Youngsters Auction.

Founded in 2018, The Youngsters Auction started with a combined auction of ridden sporthorses and loose jumpers, but since 2021, the organizing team has decided to divide these groups into two separate auctions. “With this collection of ridden sporthorses, we think we can offer a very interesting group of horses at the beginning of the competition season. There are so many great shows during the summer circuit and these 5- to 7-year-old horses will be ready to go out and compete with their new owners!”

The Youngsters Auction is proud to offer no less than five talented 7-year-old horses. One of the highlights is Pira de Rêve – an exceptional mare by Bamako de Muze out of the sister of Pacino and Malito de Rêve. “Pira jumps fantastic; she is a very modern sporthorse with lots of ability and quality”, Jasper van der Waaij states.

Another great 7-year-old talent is Piamanta (Diamant de Semilly x Hakim Ourai). This mare already competed in the CSI Young Horse classes for 7-year-olds in Herning and Opglabbeek. “A mare with exceptional qualities. She is extremely careful, is a true athlete and has performed already at international level”, says Peter van der Waaij.

6-year-olds with CSIYH experience

The selection of 6-year-olds is of a very high level as well; eight 6-year-olds made it into the 2022 auction. The wonderful mare Lalalie Z (Lavallino ter Klomp x Heartbreaker) has got a fantastic show record already. “Lalalie Z has been jumping consistent in her whole career so far. At the March tour in Oliva this year, she jumped outstanding. She finished 3rd in the CSI Young Horse final for 6-year-olds in the last week and she became the overall 2nd best 6-year-old of the tour. A very intelligent, modern horse with the right mentality”, Biba McCaul of The Youngsters Auction explains.

Another 6-year-old with great international experience is Loco-Monica – a beautiful daughter of Cornet Obolensky. “Loco-Monica made her international debut in January in Opglabbeek and then continued to perform excellent in the 6-year-old classes at the Sunshine Tour. Loco-Monica has a fantastic mentality, all the scope you look for in a future talent and is very clever on the fence”, says Peter van der Waaij.

Complete 5-year-olds

The 5-year-olds in the collection have been selected very carefully; only four made it into the auction. “These four 5-year-olds are very complete. They all have the ingredients you look for in a horse to produce for the future.” Aganix du Seigneur is the sire of two of the four 5-year-olds. The Aganix son Mount Everest WS is a complete horse with a good rideability, easy lead changes and lots of scope and quality when jumping. The striking stallion Atlantis Z was bred out of the sister of Harrie Smolders’ Escape Z and shows great talent as well.

The 5-year-old Heinz Un Prince combines the greats Cornet Obolensky and Chacco Blue and stands out for his beautiful looks and effortless jump. Melien is a daughter of Grandorado TN and a granddaughter of Grand Prix mare Elien; Melien seems to have all the ingredients as a Grand Prix prospect.
