Germany's Christian Ahlmann has been forced to take a break following a bad fall during the Longines Global Champions Tour of Mexico City last weekend. It was during Saturday's CSI5* 1.55m Trofeo Banorte that Ahlmann and the 12-year-old stallion Solid Gold Z (Stakkato Gold x Calvin) had a scary fall, which left Ahlmann with a broken wrist. Luckily, Solid Gold Z did not sustain any injuries.
After being operated in Mexico, Ahlmann has now returned home to focus on recovery and hopes to be back competing soon. On his official Instagram account, Ahlmann wrote: "After our rather hard landing in Mexico City, we have arrived safely in Marl. Solid came through everything well and I have to take a break for a few weeks until the fracture in my hand has healed! Thanks to everyone who took such good care of us and thank you very much for the many nice messages!! See you again soon!"
At World of Showjumping, we wish Christian a speedy recovery!
