New Zealand's team for the Tokyo Olympic Games announced

Three experienced riders will represent New Zealand at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

The team, which has been announced by Equestrian Sports New Zealand, consists of:

  • Bruce Gooding with Backatorps Danny V (Quasimodo Z x Lupicor, breeder F.L.M. Teepen), owned by Backatorp Ryder AB, Bruce and Ulrika Gooding. 
  • Daniel Meech with Cinca 3 (Casall x Carthago, breeder Peter Wylde), owned by Johnson Horses GmbH and Daniel Meech. 
  • Sharn Wordley with Verdini D’Houtveld (Verdi TN x Caretino 2, breeder Xavier van Melckenbeke), owned by Lauren Balcomb. 

Traveling alternate is Uma O’Neill with Clockwise of Greenhill Z (Clearway x Caretino, breeder Philip Gysbrechts), owned by Uma O’Neill Showjumping. The non-travelling reserve is Tom Tarver with Fiber Fresh Popeye (Cardento x Cufflinkv, breeder Kim and Greg Best), owned by Lucinda Voss and Tom Tarver.
