Three experienced riders will represent New Zealand at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
The team, which has been announced by Equestrian Sports New Zealand, consists of:
- Bruce Gooding with Backatorps Danny V (Quasimodo Z x Lupicor, breeder F.L.M. Teepen), owned by Backatorp Ryder AB, Bruce and Ulrika Gooding.
- Daniel Meech with Cinca 3 (Casall x Carthago, breeder Peter Wylde), owned by Johnson Horses GmbH and Daniel Meech.
- Sharn Wordley with Verdini D’Houtveld (Verdi TN x Caretino 2, breeder Xavier van Melckenbeke), owned by Lauren Balcomb.
Traveling alternate is Uma O’Neill with Clockwise of Greenhill Z (Clearway x Caretino, breeder Philip Gysbrechts), owned by Uma O’Neill Showjumping. The non-travelling reserve is Tom Tarver with Fiber Fresh Popeye (Cardento x Cufflinkv, breeder Kim and Greg Best), owned by Lucinda Voss and Tom Tarver.
