José Maria Larocca (ARG) and Diablo Blanco (Chacco-Blue x Cento) took the top honours in Saturday's biggest class at CSI4* Le Lame International in Montefalco, Italy – the 1.50m two-phase class, counting for the world ranking.
Larocca was 0.08 seconds faster than Simon Widmann (GER) and Maldonado E (Numero Uno x Darco), that finished in runner-up position ahead of Christian Fioravanti (ITA) and Double Push (Cascadello x Cornet Obolensky) in third. Andrea Benatti (ITA) ended fourth with Casanova Z (Clinton x Carolus) while Pedro Veniss (BRA) followed in fifth with Balada de Colores (Baloubet du Rouet x Couleur Rubin).
Later in the day, John Whitaker (GBR) and Green Grass (Luidam x breeding unknown) won the 1.45m class with a jump-off. With a time of 37.71 seconds, Whitaker left a a crew of Italian riders behind him in second to fifth place: Federico Ciriesi ended as runner-up with Loveday (Landstreicher x Continue), Bianca Gresele was third with Amarillo (Indoctro x Heartbreaker), Guido Franchi fourth with Nayana ADB (Nabab de Reve x Quidam de Revel) and Umberto Reboldi fifth with Heros de Regor (Malito de Reve x Fleuri du Manoir).
