Gold again for Belgium at the 2021 European Championships

Just like the juniors, the Belgian young riders claimed gold at the European Championships in Vilamoura, Portugal. Following up on Thursday's success in the junior team final, the Belgian young riders Thibeau Spits on Classic Touch DH (Casall x Corrado I), Emilie Conter on Balento C.S (Balou du Rouet x Cento), Maartje Verberckmoes on Guidam's Willow The Second (Willow x Indoctro), Alexander Housen on Casillas van de Helle (Casall x Corrado I) as well as Thibault Philippaerts on Khan Vd Kattevennen Z (Kannan x Heartbreaker) brought the victory home with a total score of 21.35 over three rounds. 

Ireland claimed silver, on a score of 23.56. Jack Ryan on BBS Mcgregor (Cardento 933 x Mark Twain), Sean Monaghan on Dalvaro 2 ( Calvaro F.C. x Glendale), Harry Allen on Guinness (Nabab de Reve x Katell), Jason Foley on Clyde VA (Caretino 2 x Quintero) as well as Kayleigh Soden on Ard Leaderman (Luidam x Ard VDL Douglas) were part of the Irish team.

The bronze went to Great Britain, that finished on a score of 28.72, with Jodie Hall McAteer on Kimosa van het Kritrahof (Chatman x Eros Platiere), Lily Attwood on Karibou Horta (Landor S x For Pleasure), Sienna Charles on Ornellaia (For Pleasure x Calato), Jack Whitaker on Scenletha (Scendix x Contendra I) as well as Robert Murphy on Highcross Violet (breeding unknown) on the team. 

Individually, Germany's Matthis Westendarp sits as rank one with Stalido (Stakkato x Calido) on a score of 5.45, followed by Great Britain's Jack Whitaker with Scenletha on 6.67 and Russia's Egor Shchibrik with Cornet's Spirit (Cornet Obolensky x Con Air) on 6.83. 

On the team standing for the children, France is in the lead with only a single penalty ahead of Belgium on four and Italy on eight.
