Hat trick for Belgium at the 2021 European Championships for children, junior and young riders

On Saturday, the Belgian children team claimed gold at the 2021 European Championships for children, junior and young riders in Vilamoura, Portugal. Belgium has dominated the team competitions, with both the junior and young rider teams taking to the top of the podium earlier during the week. 

Guided by Jean Jacques Mathis, the Belgian children team consisted of Estee Bomere on History Van'T Ameldonk Z (Horion de Libersart x Casall), Yari van den Branden on Gerard (Apollo van het Lindenbos x Lupicor), Nikita van der Meerschen on Impressario Vd Heffinck (Diabeau x Cartier Vd Heffinck), Seppe Wouters on Porthos Maestro Wh Z (Picasso Z x Ogano Sitte) and Brent de Schrijver on LIV Good Vd Kattevennen Z (Levisto Z x Action-Breaker). The Belgian team took home the win with a total of four penalties. 

Team Italy, that consisted of Vittoria Calabrò on Abete (Igor Del Cetona x Boreas), Giovanni Vincoli on Qitana VDV Z (Quasimodo Z x Julio V), Angelica Francesca Pellicari on Vasco vh Jukschot Z (Verdi x Unique II Drum vh Juxscho), Maria Ilaria Grilli on Saetta Del Terriccio (Can Can Del Terriccio x Apache d'Adriers) and Nicolo' Paolo Monari on Touche D Arrogance (Rash R x Andiamo), took the silver with a total of eight penalties.

Tabitha Kyle on Desterly (Tolan R. x Murano), Emily Fisher on Heerdestar (Zilverstar T x Utopie), Madison Seedhouse on Emara Giguellerie Z (Elvis Ter Putte x Canturo), Noora Von Bülow on Lucky Lisa (Heartbeat x Lux Z) and Eve McCoy on Non Stop (Nintender x Kannan) took the bronze medal for Great Britain with a total of 11 penalties. 

In the children division, nine horse-and-rider combinations are headed for Sunday's final with a score of zero.
