Gold for the Belgian junior team at the 2021 European Championships

The gold medals in Thursday’s team final for juniors at the European Championships in Vilamoura, Portugal, went to the Belgian riders. Bart Jay Junior Vandercasteele and Mac Jack Courtier (VDL Indoctro x Cartier van de Heffinck), Aurelia Guisson and No Limit vh Legita Hof Z (Nabab de Reve x Berlin), Anthony Philippaerts and J’Adore van het Schaek (Vagabond de La Pomme x Darco), Tristan Guisson and Naturelle vh Legita Hof Z (Nabab de Reve x For Pleasure) as well as Evelyne Putters and Uith de Rotes (Calvaro F.C. x Jalisco B) were a part of the Belgian team, that finished on a score of 9.83 after three rounds of competition.

Switzerland claimed silver, on a score of 14.98. Linus Hanselmann on Walk For Me Kzi CH (Cornet Obolensky x Night And Day), Noah Keller on Julia's Diamond Princess (Fürst Nymphenburg I x White Star), Géraldine Straumann on Silver Surfer 2 (Casall x Levisto), Thibaut Keller on Badaboum One (Quento Sange x Mylord Carthago) and Gaëtan Joliat on Verone de Hus Z (Vivaldi du Seigneur x Baloubet du Rouet) were part of the Swiss team. The bronze went to Great Britain, that finished on a score of 16.56, with Ava Vernon on Jolie Fleur van de Noordheuvel (Cassini II x Tlaloc M), Amelie Gachoud on The Precious One (Master Imp x breeding unknown), Claudia Moore on Hardesther (Kannan x Cardento 933), Oliver Fletcher on Hello William (Waldo Van Dungen x Stakkato) and Lila Bremmer on Memphis V/D Vaart (Elvis Ter Putte x Up Chiqui) on the team.

Ahead of the individual final, Ireland's Tom Wachman and HH Fireball (Number One d'Iso x Toulon) sit as rank one on a score of 0.35, followed closely by Great Britain's Ava Vernon and Jolie Fleur van de Noordheuvel on 0.39. France's Alice Laine is in bronze position with Emerald Sitte (Nabab de Reve x Corland) on a score of 4.24. 

After two rounds of competition for the young riders, Belgium has taken the lead ahead of the final on a score of 13.35 followed by Ireland on 15.56 and Germany on 16.36. Individually, Germany's Matthis Westendarp sits as rank one with Stalido (Stakkato x Calido) on a score of 1.45, followed by Great Britain's Lily Attwood on Karibou Horta (Landor S x For Pleasure) on 2.05 and Belgium's Emilie Conter on Balento C.S (Balou du Rouet x Cento) on 3.14.
