An aesthetic horse with a touch of class
Breeding is all about pairing the best with the best to create something better. That'’s what happened with Pep, another horse with an impressive pedigree. His sire, Comme il Faut, is related to legendary stallions Cornet Obolensky, Clinton, Corrado, Heartbreaker, Nimmerdor, Randel Z and Ramiro, all of them proven international competition horses.
Comme il faut´s pedigree is special because his dam is the most successful championship horse of all time, Ratina Z, the horse that wrote show jumping history with rider Ludger Beerbaum. She’s directly descended from successful show jumper Heureka, winner of the Aachen Grand Prix, via Ramiro and Almé Z. Comme il faut is currently impressing the equestrian world with Marcus Ehning, and they have been placed in Grand Prix classes at CSI5* GCT Valkenswaard, CSI5* GCT Rome, CSIO5* Barcelona, CSIO5* Rotterdam, CSIO5* Mannheim and in Nations Cups.
Pep’s dam has produced a string of successful show jumpers that have performed spectacularly in top-level and puissance classes. Her sire Landjonker is a premium stallion with many 1.40-1.50m class wins whose successful offspring include Fighting Alpha (Lars Nieberg), Janosch (Holger Hetzel) and Libra (Johannes Ehning). Paradox rounds off the pedigree.
Pep’s light-footedness, willingness and obvious enjoyment of jumping does his sire proud. This athletic, thoroughbred-type gelding has all the qualities a modern show jumper needs, including impressive conformation and a spotless character. Pep’s scope is exactly what you’d expect of a horse with this build, and he also has an excellent bascule and careful jump. This elegant gelding inspires the rider’s confidence in the ring however high the jumps are.
Pep comes straight from his breeder’s yard, where he’s been professionally reared and trained for a future competition career. He had a very successful 2015 season, with 17 placings in young horse classes up to 1.30m, all with excellent scores and 13 among the top five. The five year-old gelding also qualified for the Bundeschampionat for showj jumping horses in 2015
Pep definitely has that certain “je ne sais quoi”.
