Pedro Veniss (BRA) and the 11-year-old Nimrod de Muze Z (Nabab de Reve x Tinka's Boy) won Sunday's CSI4* 1.55m Equine America Big Tour Grand Prix at the Andalucia Sunshine Tour in Vejer de la Frontera, Spain.

Only five of the 50 horse-and-rider combinations that had qualified for the Grand Prix managed to clear the demanding 1.55m track set by Grégory Bodo and Alain Lhopital in the David Broome arena, which included an open water, an airy, white wall and a tricky triple combination as the penultimate challenge on the last line of the course.

As last to go in the jump-off, Pedro Veniss took advantage of his position and pushed his compatriot Yuri Mansur off the top of the podium, after delivering a fast round in 38.91 seconds. "Nimrod de Muze Z jumped incredibly well and I am really happy to win my first 4* Grand Prix class with this horse here today. None of this would be possible without my team," Veniss commented afterwards.

With a time of 39.67 seconds, Yuri Mansur (BRA) and Humberto Ask (Cornet Obolensky x Lazio) finished second, while third place went to Cameron Hanley (IRL) and ESI Toulouse (SIEC Livello x Quasimodo Van de Molendreef) that crossed the finish line in 40.21 seconds. Leopold Van Asten (NED) and VDL Groep Miss Untouchable (Chacco Blue x Aldatus) finished fourth with four faults in the jump-off, and the fastest time – 36.43 seconds – of the class. Pierre Alain Mortier (FRA) and Just Do It R (Action Breaker x Baloubet de Rouet) also finished on four faults as first out in the jump-off, and eventually took the fifth place.

The CSI4* 1.50m Medium Tour Grand Prix was won by Roger Yves Bost (FRA) with Ballerine du Vilpion (Baloubet du Rouet x Quidam de Revel). Bosty beat 17 other riders in the jump-off, stopping the clock 0.10 of a second faster than Emil Hallundbæk (DEN) and High Nitro (VDL Empire x Cobra). Sameh El Dahan (GBR) and Wicked Enigma (Cellestial x Alasca) took the third place, ahead of Jason Foley (IRL) on Keatingstown Z Wellie Two (Z Wellie 72 x breeding unknown) in fourth and Marcus Westergren (SWE) on Hurry Up G (Bernini x Berlin) in fifth.
