The 2024-edition of Gothenburg Horse Show kicked off on Thursday, with two French victories. The first CSI5*-W class of the day was the 1.45m Prize of Hööks counting for the Longines Ranking Group D, which went to France's Julien Anquetin and Farah Tame (Quadrio Tame x Panama Tame). Anquetin took the win with a time of 54.40, followed by Douglas Lindelöw (SWE) and Cheldon (Chacco-Blue x Baloubet du Rouet) in second in 54.73 and Rolf-Göran Bengtsson (SWE) aboard Lyjanair (Lyjanero x Coriano) in third in 58.35.
In Thursday night's CSI5*-W 1.50m Prize of Mips, France's Kevin Staut and Visconti du Telman (Toulon x Dollar du Murier) took the top honours.
A total of 15 pairs out of the 33 horse-and-rider-combinations at start in the 1.50m class counting for the Longines Ranking Group C cleared the first-round track and joined the deciding jump-off where Staut stopped the clock on 35.75 seconds – taking the win ahead of the host's Emma Emanuelsson (SWE) and Canbella Blue PS (Cantolar x Chacco-Blue) in second in 36.00.
The current world number one, Sweden's Henrik von Eckermann and Calizi (Cellestial x Stakkatol) placed third in 36.70, while Rodrigo Gisteira Almeida (POR) and Dialektro (Diacontinus x As di Villagana) finished fourth in 36.75 and Lars Kersten (NED) aboard Funky Fred Marienshof Z (Fantomas de Muze x Libero H) fifth in 36.79.
